my description

Since this was going to be the first record I put out to the public, I was very specific about what & how I wanted the sound to be. I figured that since I was into a lot of acoustics at the time, I would make this record refect that period of my life. It was mostly recorded live off the floor, & the bass or guitar, along with some percussion was added later on to certain songs.
You will hear the odd bad pitch or off note here and there, but my mission was not to create a perfect, over produced bubble gum record, but a stripped down, honest & meaningful one. Songs like "Let Me Go" & "Make Up My Mind" show a lighter sound, but still with bright melodys.
The only song on this record I choose to fully complete was "Things You Do", which has grown to become the most requested & played live song I have to date, & will connect the next record to this one.

my description

This was a song that was not just fun for me, but one hell of a challenge, especially when it came to finding the female vocal. I didn't want just anyone to do the part, it had to be somebody who not only could mesh with me, but to bring the song to a new level......And that person was Jen Sant.
When recording Wain thought that the idea wouldn't work, but after the first take, we knew it was something special, and he looked at me and said "I was wrong, it works"
