Introduction

Quixotic (pronunciation: \kwik-'sä-tik\) is defined as foolishly impractical especially in the pursuit of ideals; especially : marked by rash lofty romantic ideas or extravagantly chivalrous action.

Quixotic is a London, Ontario based band that originally came together in March of 1997.

Mike Schultz (guitar, lead vocals) and Jay Davis (drums, guitar, vocals) were originally part of a four-man band known as Spindrift. They recorded in Toronto at Kink Sound and were part of an indie compilation CD, rising indies. Spindirt opened for Rusty in London, the Killjoys in St. Thomas and they also played many battle of the bands.

Quixotic had been playing around London for well over 2 years when they decided to release their first full-length self-titled album in October 2001.

Quixotic was a weekly house band at Carey's Bar & Grille. They also have enjoyed performing at The Embassy Hotel, The Wippet Lounge, and The Shamrock & Thistle amongst other venues on a regular basis in the past. They also played at the London Music Hall with 6 other bands in November 2004.

Mike and Jay have been known to book acoustic gigs on occasion. But right now, they're about to get into the studio again to record and product their second CD.

Recently, a music editor from London This Week wrote an article announcing that Quixotic had a welcoming new sound for rock music.

They were also a Rock nominee for The London Music Awards in 2004 and again in 2006!
